Central European nations support Serbia's EU ambitions
A six-nation Central European bloc on Tuesday called for Serbia's speedy integration into the European Union.
Foreign ministers of the so-called regional partnership between Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic, declared their support for Serbia's bid on the sidelines of a summit in Bratislava.
Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic, who was invited to the summit, thanked the group for its support, saying the six countries “probably belong to the best friends we have in the EU.” Jeremic added that his country was prepared to continue negotiations over the Serb province Kosovo. Serbia was aware that entry into the EU was not possible without first resolving Kosovo's status, he said. (monstersandcritics.com)
