The number of unemployed persons reached 192,000.

According to the administrative data of the National Employment Service the number of registered jobseekers at the end of January stood at 244,000, down 2.2% compared to numbers a year before.

November-January Unemployment Rate Hits 4%

Compared to statistics published in November 2021-January 2022, the number of unemployed persons aged 15–74 increased by 13,000 to 196,000, while their unemployment rate rose by 0.2 percentage points to 4% in November 2022-January 2023. Among males, the number of unemployed persons was 105 thousand, and the unemployment rate was up by 0.4 percentage points to 4.1%. Among females, the number of unemployed people was 91 thousand, and the unemployment rate was 3.9%.

The number of unemployed people aged 15–24 years was 35,000, with an unemployment rate of 11.6%. This age group accounted for 17.9% of all unemployed. The unemployment rate for the 25–54 age group rose by 0.3 percentage points to 3.6%, while that for the 55–74 age group increased by 0.2 percentage points to 3.1%.

The average duration of job search was 9.1 months, and 31.3% of the unemployed had been looking for a job for at least a year.
