Poland Jobless Rate Increases in January

Poland's unemployment rate increased to 5.5% in January from 5.2% in the previous month, the Warsaw-based Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Thursday.
The reading was in line with an earlier estimate by the government.
It was the highest jobless rate since April last year, as the number of registered unemployed rose by 45.300 to 857.600.
Compared to January last year, the jobless rate dropped by 0.4 percentage points from 5.9%.
