Number of registered jobseekers down in November

The number of registered jobseekers in Hungary reached 242,274 in November, 3,985 fewer than in the previous month, according to data released by the National Employment Service (NFSZ), writes hrportal.hu.

The number of registered jobseekers was 54,233 lower than in the same month a year earlier.

The data showed 2,968 Hungarians registered as jobseekers for the first time during the month. The total number of new jobseeker registrations, including repeat registrations, reached 28,283.

Around 41% of registered jobseekers received no jobseekers' allowance or social assistance in November. About 39% had been seeking work for longer than a year. The average period jobseekers were registered stood at 479 days.
