The number of registered jobseekers in Hungary fell to 238,700 in December, state secretary Tamás Schanda said on Tuesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The number is the lowest in the past 30 years, with the exception of that reached in December 2019, Schanda said. It fell by 52,000 from December 2020 and was almost 138,000 lower than in summer 2020 when the number of jobseekers peaked during the coronavirus crisis.

There were around 242,274 registered jobseekers in November, data from the National Employment Service (NFSZ) show.
