Estonian Jobless Rate Rises in Q4

Estonia's unemployment rate increased to 5.4% in the fourth quarter of 2022 from 5.2% in the corresponding period last year, figures released by the Tallinn-based Statistics Estonia (SE) showed on Wednesday.
In the third quarter, the jobless rate was at 5.6%. In the fourth quarter, the number of unemployed climbed by 2,600 to 38,800, while the number of employed went up by 20,900 to 680,600.
Meantime the labor force participation rate increased to 73.5% from 71.3% a year earlier, while the employment rate rose to 69.6% from 67.6. In 2022 as a whole, the unemployment rate was 5.6%, down from 6.2% in 2021.
