Estonian Jobless Rate Edges Down in Q1

Estonia's unemployment rate ticked lower to 5.3% in the first quarter of 2023, from 5.5% in the corresponding period of the previous year, data released by Tallinn-based Statistics Estonia (SE) showed on Monday.
The number of unemployed declined by 500 to 39,100, while the number of employed climbed by 21,300 to 696,600.
The labor force participation rate edged up to 73.3% from 73.1% a year ago, while the employment rate advanced to 69.4% from 69%.
In Q4 of 2022, the jobless rate was at 5.4%.
