The average gross hourly pay rate for skilled and unskilled blue-collar workers in Hungary climbed 17.4% to HUF 1,855 in the third quarter from the same period a year earlier, news agency MTI writes, citing an analysis by staffing company Trenkwalder.

The hourly pay rate ranged between HUF 1,700 and HUF 1,900 in most regions, but was over HUF 2,500 in central Hungary and the capital and only around HUF 1,600 in the north of the country.

The analysis was based on the wage data of close to 7,000 workers.

The gross hourly statutory minimum wage in Hungary is HUF 1,704 for skilled laborers and HUF 1,334 for unskilled workers.
