789 Doctors Certified to Work Abroad Last Year
Some 789 doctors were issued certificates for foreign treatment last year, reports napi.hu, referring to the data of the National Hospital General Directorate.
In 2021, 733 doctors received official certificates to continue their work abroad; in 2020, it was 702, and in 2019, 748.
This number peaked in 2012 when 1,106 people applied for such a certificate. Among the applicants were foreign medical students who had come to Hungary to study.
The number of doctors between the ages of 25 and 39 has increased over the past five years.
The report also shows that, since the epidemic, the number of people who obtained their first nursing qualification has halved: while in 2020, there were more than 2,000, last year, there were only 900.
