Around 33% of Hungarian companies employ at least one person living with a disability, according to a survey by the Economic Research Institute (GVI) of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK), writes hvg.hu.

The survey shows 62% of companies employing 50-249 people have people living with disabilities on payroll, while the rate stands at 80% for companies with more than 250 employees.

People living with disabilities account for 2.7% of the headcount at companies employing between 26 and 49 people. At companies with a headcount of more than 250, those people make up just 0.7% of total staff.

The highest employment rates for people living with disabilities are in the commerce and manufacturing sectors.

Government measures have raised the percentage of people living with disabilities who are employed to around half, according to the survey.
