Magyar Bankholding chairman to serve as CEO as well

Appointments

Zsolt Barna

Zsolt Barna, the chairman of Magyar Bankholding, which is overseeing a tie-up that is set to become Hungary's second-biggest commercial lender, will act as chairman-CEO of the group in future, Magyar Bankholding said on Tuesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

He will take over the role of CEO from József Vida, who is leaving his post to become chairman of Magyar Bankholding group member Takarék Mortgage Bank.

Barna is a former executive of OTP Bank, Hungary's biggest commercial bank, and has headed several of the lender's units in the region.

Magyar Bankholding, a merger of MKB Bank, Budapest Bank, and Takarék Group, recently announced plans to restructure and "rationalize" its branch network as well as take a decision on a name and branding in 2023.
