The central government has entered into its 30th strategic partnership agreement with a business entity, and this one comes with the promise of some 175 new jobs in the country. Hewlett-Packard (HP) Magyarország managing director Gábor Gonda pledged to add the 175 employees to the company’s current payroll of about 2,300 in Hungary after the signing ceremony in Budapest today.

Representing the government in inking the contract was Foreign Trade Secretary Péter Szijjártó.

HP Magyarország reported revenue of HUF 114 billion for 2012, with HUF 74 billion in turnover from exports.

This most recent strategic partnership agreement is the first entered into by the government since late July, when Bosch Ltd signed up after inaugurating new Budapest headquarters for its Hungary division. Current plans call for the signing of 50 such agreements.

For those keeping score at home, companies already having signed such an agreement include local units/subsidiaries of Coca-Cola, Alcoa, Daimler, Suzuki, Hankook, General Electric, Microsoft, Stadler Rail, Tesco, IBM, Tata Consultancy Services, Nokia Siemens, National Instruments, Audi, Jabil Circuit, Continental, Dalkia, Lego, Teva, Sanofi, Bridgestone, Siemens, Denso, Ericsson, Bosch, Gedeon Richter and Waberer’s, as well as China-based Huawei Technologies and Canada-based Linamar.
