Japanese printer maker OKI's revenue in Hungary climbed to €2.3 million in the business year ended March 31 from €2 million in the previous year, OKI's financial director for the region Lóránd Tamás said at a press conference on Wednesday. Printer sales generated € 700,000 of revenue in the 2012/2013 business year. Sales of accessories, such as toner cartridges, made up the rest. Printer sales climbed 17% to more than 3,300. OKI won two big tenders, for 500 printers apiece, called by oil and gas company MOL and state-owned railway company MÁV, Tamás said. Hungary's overall printer market contracted by 17% to HUF 3.5 billion in 2012. OKI's market share for simple office printers is just 3-6%, but it controls one-third of the market for high-performance A4 printers and more than one-fifth of the market for multi-functional machines, Tamás said. ON the A3 color printer market, OKI accounts for almost one-quarter of sales, he added.
