National Instruments, Szeged University sign partnership
The Hungarian unit of U.S. measurement and automation company National Instruments (NI) Hungary and Hungary’s Szeged University of Sciences (SZTE) today signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Szeged, southern Hungary, in the areas of education, research and grant applications, national news agency MTI reported.
Under the agreement the two parties are expected to bring together a group of doctors, engineers and IT specialists to help develop technology solutions in the area of healthcare, NI Hungary managing director László Csaba Ábrahám said. He added that the company is also planning to set up an open laboratory in the city that SMEs can take advantage of.
According to university rector Gábor Szabó, the open laboratory could be located in the science park next to an EU funded super laser center.
NI Hungary set up a manufacturing base in Debrecen, eastern Hungary, in 2001, MTI said, adding that the company also has a shared services center in the country.
