MOL unit begins test production at Akri Bijell Block in Iraq
Kalegran, a 100%-owned unit of Hungary-based oil-and-gas giant MOL, as operator has begun test production at the Bijell-1B well at the Akri Bijell Block in Iraq. MOL representatives further announced today that test production at the Bijell-1B well is around 3,500 barrels per day.
The company expects test production to begin at the Bijell-2, -4 and -6 wells later this year and at the Bijell-8, -9 and -10 blocks to begin in the first half of next year.
MOL noted that Kalegran expects to publish in April an updated Field Development Plan which could significantly raise previous estimates of oil reserves at the Akri Bijell Block based on positive testing results.
