MOL chief attends hearing in The Hague

Zsolt Hernádi, CEO of Hungarian oil and gas company MOL, was recently in The Hague for a hearing in connection with a lawsuit between MOL and the Croatian government regarding Croatian oil and gas company INA, Hungarian online daily nol.hu reported today.

Following Hernádiʼs recent removal from Interpol’s most wanted list on November 25, he was free to travel to the Netherlands. In fact, he is free to travel to any country in the world, except Croatia, where there is still a warrant for his arrest, nol.hu reported.

Hernádi was first listed by Interpol when Croatian police issued a warrant for his arrest in the autumn of 2013 on suspicion he had bribed former Prime Minister Ivo Sanader to give MOL management rights in Croatian peer INA, according to reports. Reports also speculated that there may be a connection between Hernádi’s removal from the Interpol list and Sanader’s release from prison, also on November 25, ordered by the Zagreb County Court.
