MKB Bank applies for HUF 116 bln in central bank refinancing

MKB Bank is applying for HUF 116 billion in refinancing under the National Bank of Hungary's "Funding for Growth Scheme", the lender told MTI on Friday. MKB Bank said it is already in a dominant position on the lending market for SMEs and seeks to further strengthen its position in the segment in the coming years. The MNB is making a combined HUF 500 billion in refinancing available in equal part for new SME lending and the conversion of foreign currency-denominated SME loans into forint ones under the Funding for Growth Scheme.
