MET makes first LNG deal

Hungarian MET Group’s West European natural gas trading arm, MET International AG, has made its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) transaction, the company said on Friday, according to Hungarian news agency MTI. 

MET International took delivery of the gas from a tanker in Italy. 

MET International launched its LNG business on March 1. MET Group’s gas portfolio stands at about 16 billion cubic meters. It is also active on the electricity and crude oil markets.

The company has units in ten countries and trades on the gas markets of 25 countries. The Switzerland-headquartered MET Group was founded in Hungary in 2007.
