Magyar Telekom to eliminate 250 jobs

Hungarian telecommunications company Magyar Telekom plans to eliminate 250 jobs, the majority of them by the end of this year, the company announced on Friday.

Magyar Telekom added that it has earmarked HUF 2.3 billion (€7.8 million) in severance pay for the affected employees.

The company also announced that it plans to add 270 positions to the company payrolls by the end of 2014, as compared to the end of 2012.
