Intersnack obsessed about Hungarian paprika

Recycling

Not only Hungarians seem to be enchanted about spice “paprika”, as German-owned snack maker Intersnack has initiated the purchasing of 210 tons. The measure is 10% more as compared to last year's and is worth HUF 260 million.

The spices would be transported to the plants of Intersnack in Hungary, Germany, France, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic to be processed, as the German company enormously depends on Hungarian “paprika” flavor. The company uses “paprika” for creating its various spice mixes used for crackers exported to 13 countries in Europe.

Intersnack is also planning to buy more than 12,000 tons of grain from Hungary for further production. Net revenue of Intersnack Magyarország Kft. was HUF 11.3 billion in 2013, experiencing the first rise since the two-year-old introduction of Public Health Product Fee or “chips tax”, and has also seen a drop in losses.

Intersnack Magyarország’s latest upgrade of April in its Győr plant would raise the production of flour-based products from 12,000 to 15,000 tons. The company has invested more than HUF 3.5 billion in Hungary in the past decade.
