Wizz Air passenger numbers reach 11 mln in 2011/12 business year
Hungarian low-fare airline Wizz Air carried more than 11 million passengers in its business year ended March 31, up from 9.6 million in the previous year, the company told MTI on Wednesday.
Wizz Air targets 12 million passengers in the business year started April 1.
Budapest accounted for about 1.3 million of Wizz Air's passengers last business year. Load factor on the flights was 85%.
Wizz Air did not reveal any concrete financial data, but said it "counts on double-digit growth in the coming year too".
Wizz Air took delivery of its sixth Airbus A320 in Budapest on Wednesday. The airline noted it has moved three new aircraft to Budapest over the past three months, giving it the biggest fleet in Hungary.
Wizz Air is Central and Eastern Europe's biggest low-fare airline, flying 36 Airbus A320 aircraft from 15 bases to 70 destinations in 25 countries.
