Wizz Air among top 10 safest low-cost airlines

Discount airline Wizz Air has again been ranked among the top 10 safest low-cost airlines in AirlineRatings' 2022 safety ranking, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.

AirlineRatings.com is the world's only safety, product, and coronavirus rating agency that monitors 385 scheduled airlines.

The rating system takes into account a number of factors when assessing safety data from airline governing bodies, leading associations, and airlines themselves. The company grades operators in several categories, from one to seven, and Wizz Air again achieved the highest safety rating of seven stars in 2022.

Wizz earned its excellent score based on its incident record over the past two years, accident statistics over the past five years, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) inspection results, EU ban lists, and average fleet age.
