Waberer's Books Record Revenue in Q1

Transport

First-quarter net income of listed Hungarian hauler Waberer's fell 90% year-on-year to EUR 1.1 million, as margins narrowed and an FX loss weighed, an earnings report published on Wednesday shows.

Revenue climbed 11% to EUR 196.7 mln, a new record, driven mainly by business segments with higher profitability rates, Waberer's said.

Operating margin fell to 4.3% in Q1 from 6.3pc in the base period. An unrealized FX loss shaved another EUR 3.9 mln off the bottom line, while higher deferred tax and lower interest income on lower cash balances, due to Capex and acquisitions, reduced net income by EUR 2.7 mln.

Waberer's affirmed guidance for consolidated revenue of close to EUR 800 mln and operating profit similar to that in 2023.
