Summer season in sight, airlines return to Liszt Ferenc

Several airlines are returning to Liszt Ferenc International Airport Budapest with the start of the summer travel season, business daily Napi Gazdaság said on Wednesday. SAS will start operating nine flights a week between Budapest and Copenhagen and Oslo from April 4 and Aegean Airlines will start flying between Athens and the Hungarian capital four times a week from April 9, Budapest Airport spokesman Mihály Hardy told the paper. UTair will launch a twice-weekly flight between Saint Petersburg and Budapest on April 28 and airberlin will fly twice daily between Berlin and Budapest on weekdays from May, he added. Jet2.com is expanding its Budapest flights and talks are ongoing on a Tehran-Budapest flight operated by Mahan Air, Hardy said.
