Imre Kovács, chairman of the board of Rail Cargo Hungária Zrt., proposed implementing a six-point package of measures to reduce problems on the Hungarian railways.

He emphasized that an increase in performance can already be shown, while the share of rail transport will decrease in 2022.

However, he said that additional support would be needed, for example, in the field of combined transport; the drastic rise in the price of electric traction energy must also be addressed.

A review of the procurement method is also warranted in the medium term.
