The average price of parking spots in garages in Hungary's capital and other big cities rose 27% to HUF 6.3 million last year, according to data compiled by real estate broker Otthon Centrum, writes portfolio.hu.
Demand for garage parking spots rose 15% as some buyers saw the purchase as an investment amid high inflation, Otthon Centrum said.
Spots in garages went for HUF 5.5 mln-6.5 mln on the leafy Buda side of the capital, but were over HUF 5 mln in outlying districts, too.
Average prices were the highest, at HUF 7.4 mln, in Siófok (110 km southwest of Budapest), on Lake Balaton, driven higher by the number of spots in garages in new builds.
