New HUF 1 bln tender called for e-bike subsidies
Applications can be submitted for HUF 1 billion in subsidies to support the purchase of electric bikes from Thursday, state secretary of the Innovation and Technology Ministry Attila Steiner said on Thursday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
Government subsidies have so far been disbursed for purchases of more than 6,000 e-bikes and the latest tender will support purchases of an additional 10,000 electric bicycles, the ministry said in a statement.
The tender is also open to students, pensioners, and parents staying at home with young children.
Subsidies of HUF 100,000 are available for e-bikes with cadence sensors and HUF 180,000 for e-bikes with torque sensors.
