Malev sends extra flights to Damascus

Transport

Hungarian airlines Malév Zrt has operated two extra flights to Damascus in addition to its regular flights in order to bring 400 passengers back to Budapest on Wednesday, a spokesperson announced.

Of the 400 passengers, 89 had Budapest as their final destinations and around half of them were Hungarians, Krisztina Németh said. Most of the others have continued their journey to Germany, she added. Malév maintains contacts with foreign representative offices in order to consider whether it is necessary to send extra flights to the region, Németh said.
Malév will restart its Lebanon flights only when the situation is back to normal. Until then, all passengers who hold tickets from Damascus or Beirut will be taken to Budapest with flights from Damascus.
