Gov't Plans Rollout of County Public Transport Passes
Hungary's government plans to introduce passes valid for all public transport within a county in the first half of 2023, Transport and Investment Minister János Lázár said in an interview published in Saturday's issue of regional daily Delmagyarorszag, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
The introduction of the county public transport pass, good for travel by bus and rail, would be a "first step" in offering Hungarians who don't live in the capital a "genuine alternative" to travel by car, Lázár said.
The county public transport passes would be made available at a preferential price, modeled on county motorway vignettes, according to the report.
