Gov't Awards Around HUF 800 mln in E-bike Subsidies
Some HUF 800 million in subsidies for the purchase of bicycles with auxiliary electric motors has been awarded to 57,774 applicants this year, the Hungarian Motorsport and Green Mobility Development Agency (HUMDA) said on Thursday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
Applications for the remaining HUF 140 mln in support available in the Pedelec-2022 scheme will be accepted until the middle of next April or until the funding runs out.
Subsidies up to HUF 100,000 are available for e-bikes with cadence sensors and as much as HUF 180,000 for e-bikes with torque sensors.
HUMDA noted that some HUF 109 mln from a HUF 400 mln funding allocation to support the purchase of e-cargo bikes is still available. So far, HUF 271 mln in support has been awarded to 127 applicants for the purchase of 221 e-cargo bikes.
The e-cargo bike tender targets sole proprietors, businesses, civil organizations, and municipal councils.
