Germanwings plans gradual increase of Hungarian market share

Low-fare airline Germanwings plans to gradually boost its share of Hungary's air travel market from 180,000 passengers in 2005, which gave it 3% of the market, to 250,000 by 2007, Germanwings spokesman Andreas Engel said on Friday.
Germanwings recently opened hubs in Hamburg and Berlin and is considering adding Budapest to the destinations its serves from the two airports. "Germanwings also sees great potential in the Eastern European market, which we would like to exploit," Engel said. Engel declined to reveal load factor on Germanwings’ Budapest flights, but said the flights were profitable. He added that turnaround time for the flights was about 30 minutes.
