Domestic Passenger Volume Climbs 26% in 2022

Domestic passenger volume in Hungary climbed 26% to 17.9 billion passenger-kilometer last year, according to data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH), state news wire MTI reports.
Passenger volume on buses rose 16% to 10.5 bln passenger-kilometers and volume on trains jumped 42% to 7.4 bln passenger-kilometers.
The data do not include urban public transport.
Including international travel, passenger volume rose 48% to 24.6 bln passenger-kilometers as volume on airplanes soared 189% to 6.1 bln passenger-kilometers.
