Debrecen International Airport will close for one week from October 3 for runway repairs, director János Vajda told state news wire MTI on Friday.

The shutdown will affect all scheduled flights of Wizz Air, Lufthansa, and Aeroexpress, Vajda said.

He added that military aircraft as well as flights using the humanitarian corridor because of the war in Ukraine had boosted traffic at the airport and resulted in damages to the runway.
