Budapest-Balaton cycle path to be ready by next summer

Transport

A cycle path connecting Budapest with Lake Balaton will be completed, with the exception of a few short stretches, by next summer, the Innovation and Technology Ministry said in a post on Facebook on Friday.

The cycle path will extend from Budapest to Balatonakarattya, on the eastern end of the lake, except for stretches passing through Biatorbágy, on the outskirts of the capital, Pákozd, on Lake Velence, and the city of Székesfehervar, the ministry said.

Almost HUF 13.5 billion in funding has been earmarked for the Budapest-Balaton cycle path.
