In its 176th shipping season this year, the passenger ships and ferries of Balatoni Hajózási Zrt. (Bahart) had carried one million passengers by mid-July, according to profitline.hu.

The ferry service of Bahart, which is majority-owned by the state, transported half a million passengers by July 3.

The busiest day of the year so far was July 16, when more than 16,000 people traveled on the four ferries.

The number of passengers on the company's passenger ships exceeded 305,000 on July 21, which is 87,000 more than a year earlier.

"This year's sales are expected to exceed HUF 4 billion, as it appears that our three main sectors, the ferry, scheduled shipping, and the yacht harbor sector, may perform stronger than last year," said the company manager.
