Tesco, unions reach deal on 5.5% pay rise
The local unit of U.K. supermarket chain Tesco on Friday said its management reached an agreement with trade unions on a 5.5% average pay rise for store and warehouse workers, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
From March 1, base pay for Tesco workers will be a minimum gross HUF 250,000, but overtime, benefits, vouchers and location stipend could raise that over HUF 320,000.
Hungarians working full time in commerce earned a gross monthly HUF 402,400, on average, in November, the latest data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH) show.
