Tesco’s home delivery expands further

Retail

Following expansion to Szeged and Székesfehérvár, Tesco’s home delivery services, known as Tesco Online Shopping, became available in Csepel as of June 15 and Győr as of today, the Hungarian unit of the U.K. retail chain announced today.

The current expansion translates as a growing number of jobs at the firm, with the predicted expansion of Tesco’s fleet reaching 100 delivery cars soon, the press release said.

“Due to the expansions, headcount rose by 37 employees in Csepel and by 28 in Győr. We are planning further expansion in both locations, therefore another two cars would be required to service the two cities, making it possible for another ten employees to start working with us. In the beginning of July our 100th car will start delivering as well,” Tesco Head of e-commerce Péter Sebestyén said.

Following the second year of its launch, Tesco Online Shopping has served more than 73,000 customers through approximately 450,000 orders.
