Do-it-yourself chain Praktiker has completed a HUF 200 million overhaul of a store in the north of the capital and is preparing for the launch of the government's home renovation support program, the company said on Wednesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
From the start of 2021, the government is subsidizing half of home renovation costs - up to HUF 3 mln - for families with one or more children. From February, applicants for the subsidies can apply for preferential loans to cover the other half of their home renovation projects.
Praktiker is the second-largest DIY chain in Hungary with a 33% market share. It has 20 stores.
