Poland September retail sales continue to advance

Retail sales in Poland jumped 11.1% year-on-year in September, following a 10.7% increase in the previous month, figures from the Warsaw-based Central Statistical Office (GUS) on Thursday show.
Sales increased for fuels by 23.7%; pharmaceuticals & cosmetics by 10.3%; furniture by 12.1%; and food, beverages & tobacco products by 4.3%.
In addition, retail sales for textile, clothing, footwear rose 15.2% but declined for motor vehicles 2%.
On a non-seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail trade went down 1.4%, after a 0.9% decline in August.
