Lithuania Retail Sales Fall Further in July

Retail sales in Lithuania shrank by 1.6% year-on-year in July, after a 0.5% drop in the previous month, data from the Vilnius-based Statistics Lithuania (LS) on Monday show.

It was the sixth straight month of decline in retail sales and the fastest pace since April. Prices of non-food products fall 1.6% (vs -1.4% in June) while cost for food, beverages & tobacco decreased by 5.8% (vs -3.2%).

In addition, prices of automotive fuel in specialized stores increased 5% (vs 5.4%).

On a monthly comparison basis, retail activity declined 0.3% in July, following a 1.1% fall in the previous month.
