Lithuania Retail Sales Drop in April

Retail sales in Lithuania fell by 4.1% year-on-year in April, marking the third straight month of decline and easing slightly from a downwardly revised 4.2% fall in the previous month, figures released by the Vilnius-based Statistics Lithuania (LS) showed on Friday.

Sales dropped at a softer pace for non-food products (-3.6 vs -4.5% in March), while declined faster for food, beverages & tobacco (-7.9% vs -7.4%).

On a monthly basis, retail activity fell 0.4% in April, following an upwardly revised 14.5% increase in the previous month.
