Hungarians Budget HUF 100,000 for Winter Holidays
Hungarians plan to spend around HUF 100,000 over the holidays this year, including HUF 47,500 on gifts, news agency MTI reports, citing a survey commissioned by consumer credit company Cofidis.
Around 35% of Hungarians plan to spend less over the holidays this year, while 18% don't plan any Christmas expenditures.
The survey shows Hungarians now spend around HUF 142,000 on food each month, HUF 30,000 more than when the survey was last conducted three months earlier.
Around four-fifths of Hungarians said they would need around HUF 200,000 more a month to "live comfortably".
NRC Marketingkutató es Tanácsadó conducted the representative survey of 500 internet users between the ages of 18 and 69.
