Fresh seafoods coming to major cities

Retail

German quick service seafood restaurant chain Nordsee has made the final decision to enter the Hungarian market, with the first unit to open in Budapest next year, Communications Officer Geoffroy Peuch told business daily Világgazdaság.

Rather than adopting a franchise business model, the company is planning to rent retail space and operate the restaurants in cooperation with local business partners, he said, adding that Nordsee GmbH is currently in search of suitable partners in the country. According to Peuch, the opening of the first restaurant in Budapest will be followed by new units in other major cities. Established more than 100 years ago, Nordsee operates more than 420 restaurants in Europe’s German-speaking countries, with new units recently opened in the Czech Republic and Slovenia.
