First Wolt Market outside Budapest opens

Retail

The first Wolt Market unit outside Budapest is now open in Pécs, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.

Wolt Market is a shop without customers. Users can order from the Wolt Market range via the app, and the products ordered are delivered to their door within 30 minutes by a Wolt courier partner.

"Pécs was the first countryside town where Wolt was established - true to tradition, Wolt Market is now starting its countryside expansion here. We would like to introduce this convenient and simple form of shopping to as many people as possible, and we are planning to open more units in the near future," said Gábor Törös, managing director of Wolt Market.

Wolt Market deliveries in Pécs are available in almost the entire city. The range of goods consists of 2,000 different products, which will be continuously expanded, but from the very beginning, Wolt Market will also focus on satisfying the needs of food-sensitive and vegan customers, according to the press release.

"The success of the service is demonstrated by the fact that we have been able to increase our turnover month on month over the last period. Our prices are absolutely competitive with shop prices, but at the same time we offer an added convenience that keeps our customers coming back even in the current difficult economic climate," added Törös.

SUPPORT THE BUDAPEST BUSINESS JOURNAL

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.
Newspaper organizations across the globe have struggled to find a business model that allows them to continue to excel, without compromising their ability to perform. Most recently, some have experimented with the idea of involving their most important stakeholders, their readers.
We would like to offer that same opportunity to our readers. We would like to invite you to help us deliver the quality business journalism you require. Hit our Support the BBJ button and you can choose the how much and how often you send us your contributions.
