DM Drogerie Markt Hungary revenue edges up in 2010/11 business year

The Hungarian unit of German-owned cosmetics and household chemicals retailer DM Drogerie Markt had turnover of €225m in its business year ended September 30, up 3.5% from the previous business year, managing director Wolfgang Strasser said at a press conference on Thursday.
Consolidated revenue of the parent company was up 10% during the period, Strasser said.
DM has a 52.6% market share in Hungary. It has 255 shops at present, having opened seven and closed seven in the last year.
DM does not aim to open new stores at any price, rather it wants to concentrate on "quality expansion" modernizing, and sprucing up stores, Strasser said.
DM employs 2,251 people in Hungary.
