Czech retail sales surge in August

The Czech retail sales accelerated by a working-day 9.3% year-on-year in August, after a 5.1% growth in July, data from the Czech Statistical Office (CZSO) showed on Friday.
On an unadjusted basis, retail sales gained 5.1% annually in August
. On a month-on-month basis, retail sales excluding automobile trade rose a seasonally adjusted 0.3% in August. Sales of non-food rose 0.7% and sales of food goods gained 0.1%.
Meanwhile, sales of automotive fuel decreased 1.5%.
