Boeing commercial airplane deliveries rise 9% in Q3

The Boeing Company announced on Thursday that it delivered 109 commercial airplanes in the Q3, up 9% from a year ago.
The Q3 deliveries pushed the Chicago-based US airplane manufacturer’s total for the year to date to 329, according to a press release issued by the company on its website. Boeing delivered 81 single-aisle 737 airplanes in the Q3, accounting for three-quarters of the total. So far this year, the company has delivered a total of 250 737 model planes. It also delivered twenty 777s, five 747s and three 767s in the Q3.
Earlier this year, Boeing’s CEO Jim McNerney said that the US company expects to overtake European rival Airbus in deliveries by early 2008. Airbus at present projects that it will deliver a total of 450 to 460 airplanes in 2007, news reports say. It is expected to report its Q3 deliveries shortly. (people.com.cn)
