Top investors in Hungary awarded by HIPA

The Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) has awarded outstanding investors in Hungary for their activities in 2015, during the “Investor of the Year” awards ceremony held in Budapest this past weekend, according to a press release issued by the agency yesterday.

Investors that made the largest contribution to the economy and to society as a whole through the creation of jobs and the growth of the SME sector received awards in seven categories. Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó and HIPA President Róbert Ésik were in attendance at the ceremony, the press release noted.

Awards went to the following recipients: Samvardhana Motherson Peguform (SMP) for Largest Greenfield Investment of the Year, Mercedes-Benz for Business Expansion of the Year, Continental for Company of the Year for Job Creation, Hellmann Shared Service Center Kft. for SSC Project of the Year, Bosch for Company of the Year for R&D Investment, Jászfényszaru Industrial Center for Industrial Park of the Year and Magyarmet Finomöntöde Kft. for Supplier of the Year.

“Domestic investment promotion closed an outstandingly successful year in 2015: HIPA successfully negotiated 67 investment projects to completion, which corresponds to a nearly 12% increase compared to 2014. As a result of these projects, about 12,995 new jobs may be created, which is almost 21% more than in 2014,” the press release noted.
