Romania's advert market rises 35% in H1 2007

Romania's advertising market grew 35% in the first six months of this year compared with the same period of last year, Rompres news agency reported Thursday.
More than €2.23 billion ($3.03 billion) were invested in advertising during the period, with €1.76 billion ($2.39 billion) for advertising on TV, radio and print media. According to local specialists, increases in tariffs of most TV and radio stations contributed to the growth in advertising. In addition, Romania's EU entry made room for new customers willing to pay the price and those already on the market were forced to modify their advertising budgets to maintain transparency.
The biggest investments in advertising were made by Procter &Gamble, Unilever and L'Oreal Romania, according to Alfa Cont monitoring. Some 90.2% of gross investments, or €2 billion ($2.72 billion) were drawn by TV stations, followed by print media with 7.54% and radios with 2.1%. (people.com.cn)
