Plywood maker Derula plans €30 mln capacity expansion
Plywood maker Derula, based in Szolnok (E Hungary), plans to spend almost €30 million over several years to more than double capacity, the company's Italian owner Enrico Bonzano said on Wednesday.
The company also wants to double the size of its tree plantation from 1,500 hectares at present, Bonzano said, showing Szolnok mayor Ferenc Szalay a new production line at the base.
The expansion of capacity at the plant will create 88 new jobs, and the planting of more trees further 200-300 jobs, he said.
Derula produces 40,000 cubic meters of plywood a year, generating gross revenue of €14 million. It employs 136 people at present.
